Herensia di Shell

documentary film (in development)

Seventy years of Royal Dutch Shell on Curaçao brought about a radical transformation in the island’s society during the 20th century. Three Curaçaoans, with Venezuelan, Dutch, and African roots, narrate archival footage as they discover how the lives of their grandparents, as well as their own lives, were shaped by ‘the great employer’. Do the traumas from this colonial past live on in them today?
